• India is going to train the Qatari police for handling the security during the FIFA World Cup in the nation, scheduled to be held in 2022. 
• The agreement for the training was reached upon by the visiting Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and India's Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh On December 4, 2016.
• The US Senate has unanimously passed a legislation to extend sanctions against Iran by 10 years. 
• It was forwarded to President Barack Obama, who is expected to sign it into law delaying any potentially tougher actions until next year.
