IMPORTANT CURRENT AFFAIRS OF DECEMBER 22, 2015
- The United
States has
lifted a 40-year-old
ban on export of Oil.
- This move paves the way for energy deficient countries like
India to open up another frontier to import oil from a distant friendly nation.
- The ban was lifted as President Barack Obama on December 21,
2015 signed into law the Omnibus USD 1.8 trillion spending package and tax bill
for the current fiscal ending on September 30, 2016.
- Rajya Sabha on December 21, 2015 passed the Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe (Prevention
of Atrocities) Amendment Bill, 2015.
- This bill seeks to amend the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 [it
amends certain existing categories and adds certain categories of actions by
non SCs and STs against SCs or STs to be treated as offences].
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off e-bus for Parliament.
- It is the first prototype of bus converted from diesel to
electric.
- Assam is set
to enforce the National
Food Security Act across
the state from 24th December 2015.
- The State Government has announced that subsidised rice will be provided to two crore
forty lakh people, under the Food Security Act.
- With this act, 60 percent population from the towns and 84
percent of the people living in villages will be benefited.
- According to the Act, every eligible person will get five kilograms of rice every
month at the cost of three rupees per kilogram.
- On December 21, 2015 104th
foundation day of India's first SWADESHI BANK 'Central Bank of India" was observed.
- Central Bank of India was completely owned and founded by
Indians with out any Britishers share.
- It was established on 21
December 1911 by Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala with
Sir Pherozeshah Mehta as Chairman.
- Sorabji Pochkhanawala is the
only banker in who's honour postage stamp was released by the President of
India.
- Tata Motors has
made it to the Top 50 league of the World’s
biggest companies (in terms of R&D investments).

Universe 2015.
