The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the United Nations Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) jointly launched the Global Programme to Accelerate Action to End Child Marriage.

It is a multi-country initiative and is part of a global effort to prevent girls from marrying too young.

In collaboration with New York-based National Resources Defence Council, the government is launching a programme to protect people from extreme heat in Bhubaneswar and Nagpur.

Government has announced that more than four lakh Jobs will be generated under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) during 2016-17.

Minister of Micro,Small and Medium Enterprises Mr Kalraj Mishra informed,that a sum of Rs 1,139 crore will be utilized during the next financial year under PMEGP to assist 55 thousand projects with Margin Money.
