The 13th edition of India-Nepal joint military
exercise 'Surya Kiran' successfully concluded at Pithoragarh,
Uttarakhand.
a. Aim of
Surya Kiran XIII : Enhancing and strengthening level of defence
cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.
b. Surya
Kiran-XIII exercise saw participation of nearly 300 soldiers from both Indian
and Nepal Army.

President Ram
Nath Kovind will embark on 3
nation official tour to Greece, Suriname and Cuba from
16th to 22th June 2018.
a. Greece will be
first leg of the visit, during which he will meet Greek
President Prokopis Pavlopoulos.
b. He will
also meet his Greek counterpart Alexis Tsipras and Leader
of Opposition.
d. A
number of agreements and MoUs in the areas of health and medicine, elections,
IT, Ayurveda are scheduled to be signed.
e. India
will offer Line of Credit (LoC) of $54.5 million to Suriname for solar related
projects. Suriname is a founding member of the International Solar Alliance.
f. After
that he will visit Cuba and will hold wide range
of discussions with President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez.
g. A
number of agreements and MoUs in areas of bio technology, research and
education in homeopathic medicine, traditional system of medicine and medicinal
plants will be signed between both countries during the visit.

The International Conference on Information
and Communication Technology (ICT) will be held in Kathmandu (Nepal's
capita) during 17th and 18th June 2018.
a. Theme
of the Conference : “Sustainable Development Goals for Smart
Society”.
b. Aim of
this Conference : To bring government and private sector together for
developing plan of action using sustainable ICT applications.

The US government has
approved a deal to sell six AH-64E Apache attack helicopters to India for
$930 million.

the deal, the US will also provide night vision sensors, control radars,
Hellfire Longbow missiles and Stinger air-to-air missiles to India.

May has announced that the country is going to launch 'Start-Up
Visas' from the year 2019 to invite talented founders of
business ventures.

visa will be open to people who do not have a university degree.

current Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) visa is only granted to graduates with
'credible business ideas'.

Bank and Axis Bank are testing the system
to send banking communications through WhatsApp.

communications will include notifications on ATM cash withdrawal
details and point of sales (PoS) transactions.
