National Film Archive of India is
going to host European Union Film Festival 2018 from 6th July
to 12th July in Mumbai.

with the French film 9 Month Stretch, the seven days
festival will feature24 films all belonging to member countries of the European
Union, from a variety of genres such as drama, romance and comedy.

Today (July 4) marks the 116th death
anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, who was one of India’s
most revered spiritual leaders.

his speeches and lectures, Swami Vivekananda tried to awaken the religious
consciousness among people and also tried to uplift the downtrodden using the
principles of Practical Vedanta.

Union Health and Family
Welfare Minister J P Nadda today
confirmed that fruit bats are the source of the Nipah
virus infection, which killed 17 people in Kerala.
a. Note : Bats
had earlier tested negative in May, but 55 bats trapped in the second round
have tested positive for Nipah.

The Registrar-General of India (RGI) has
recently issued the notification as the process for the 2021
Census kicks in.
a. The
enumerators would start house listing in 2020, and the headcount would begin in
February 2021.

Note : The data collected during the 2021 Census will be stored
digitally, the first time since the decennial exercise was
conducted in 1951 in Independent India.

The Election Commission of India has launched
a mobile application titled "cVIGIL"
to enable citizens to report any violation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC)
during elections.

is a user-friendly and easy to operate Android application.

aims at empowering people across the country to share evidence of malpractice
by political parties, their candidates and activists directly with ECI.

The Centre today approved the raise in Minimum
Support Price (MSP) for kharif crops in line with its
budget announcement to ensure that farmers get at least 1.5 times of
the production cost.

for paddy has been hiked to around ₹1,750 per quintal from
previous year's ₹1,550 and corn increased to ₹1,700 from ₹1,131.

Commission (KVIC) launched its in-house developed, single-umbrella
e-marketing system named Khadi Institution Management and
Information System (KIMIS) in New Delhi.

will serve as in-house single umbrella billing software for sale and purchase
that could be monitored, round-the-clock, from any part of India.

The high-level committee on restructuring
stressed assets and creating more value for public sector
banks (PSBs) has suggested a transparent market-based

and creation.

Indian Captain Virat Kohli has
become the 1st Indian and fastest overall to reach2,000
runs in men's T20I cricket.

Indian wicketkeeper MS Dhoni surpassed
Pakistan's Kamran Akmal to be the player with the most stumpings in
T20I history.

Kathuniya smashed the world record in the Men's discus
