India and Myanmar have resolved to exchange crucial
information relating to drug trafficking and precursors.
a. The decision
was taken at the 4th Director General level talks between Narcotics
Control Bureau (NCB) and Central Committee for Drug Abuse
Control (CCDAC) in New Delhi today.
b. The Indian
delegation was led by NCB Director General Abhay while
the Myanmar delegation was headed by CCDAC Joint Secretary Police
Brigadier General Win Naing.

Italy’s hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, which
is home to world-famous sparkling wine Prosecco, were added by UNESCO
(United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) to World
Heritage list.
a. The decision
to add hills to list was taken at a meeting of UNESCO’s World Heritage
Committee in Baku in Azerbaijan.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today the state government is
considering making HIV tests mandatory before the
registration of marriages.

The Delhi government today announced that it'll
appoint marshals in its hospitals to ensure
security for doctors.
a. The decision
came after doctors at Delhi government-run LNJP hospital went on strike over
alleged assault on a medical student by a patient's attendant.
5.
Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly today passed 5 important bills on the
second day of the three day budget session. The bills are :
a. Arunachal
Pradesh Lokayukta (Amendment) Bill, 2019
b. Arunachal
Pradesh Goods and Service Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2019
c. Arunachal
Pradesh Municipal Corporation Bill, 2019
d. Arunachal
Pradesh State Higher Education Council Bill, 2019
e. Arunachal
Pradesh Protection of Medical Service Personnel and Medical Service
Institutions (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss of Property) Bill,
2019.

Under Operation Milap the Delhi Police Crime
Branch has rescued 333 missing children from the city and handed them over to
their families in different parts of country.
a. The programme
was launched in December 2014 as a project under which children are
rescued.
7.
American aerospace major Boeing has announced
the arrival of 2 new heavy-lift Chinook helicopters for
the Indian Air Force (IAF) at the Mundra port in
Gujarat.
a. The Indian
Air Force has ordered 15 Chinooks and the first four helicopters arrived in
February.
b. The IAF had
placed the order in 2015 along with 22 Apache attack helicopters.

The Madhya Pradesh state has announced that
along with distribution and marketing of certified and high quality seeds to
farmers, the State Cooperative Seed Federation is going to produce
seeds too.
a. The brand
name of seeds will be ‘Sah-Beej’.

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) carried
out 3 successful test firings of Nag missiles during both day
and night in Pokhran firing ranges.
a. With this
successful trial of Nag anti-tank guided missiles is in final
stages of being inducted into Army.

To commemorate 50 years of partnership between Union Ministry
and agency towards addressing food and nutritional security in India, the Union
Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar today
launched a coffee table book titled '50 years of Partnership for Change’.
a. This book
showcases key milestones achieved by Government of India (GoI) in its efforts
to make the country free from hunger and malnutrition and role played by WFP in
this endeavour.
b. The book
includes some of the major turning points in India’s journey towards food and
nutrition security captured in Green Revolution, White revolution (also known
as operation flood), digitization of food safety nets, improvements in
livestock and dairy development.

Indian movie ‘Gully Boy’ directed by Zoya
Akhtar, was honoured with NETPAC (The Network for the Promotion of
Asian Cinema) Award for Best Asian Film at 23rd Bucheon International
Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) in South Korea.
a. Note : This movie
was inspired by the real live events of Mumbai street rappers Vivian
Fernandes (aka Divine) and Naved Shaikh (aka Naezy).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has
appointed ex-India captain Rahul Dravid as Head
Cricket, National Cricket Academy (NCA) in
Bengaluru.
a. He will
oversee all cricket related activities at NCA and will be involved in
mentoring, coaching, training and motivating players, coaches and support
staff.
13. India's
largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp appointed Rajat
Bhargava as the head of its new 'Emerging Mobility' business
unit.
a. Hero created
the unit to give an impetus to new mobility trends such as Electric
Vehicles.
14.
Former Team India captain MS Dhoni became
the 2nd Indian cricketer after Sachin Tendulkar to
play 350 matches in ODI cricket.
a. Dhoni has
scored 10,723 runs at an average of 50.58 and has effected 443 dismissals (320
catches and 123 stumpings) in his first 349 ODIs.
b. Overall, MS
Dhoni is the tenth cricketer to reach 350 ODIs.
15. Former world
champion Mirabai Chanu won a Gold medal on the opening
day of the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship today.
a. Mirabai
lifted a total of 191kg in the senior women's 49 kg event.
