2. According
to recently released Henley Passport Index, Japan has
the "most powerful" passport in the world.
a. Singapore
& Germany jointly stood at the second
position and the third place was shared by six
countries namely South Korea, Finland, France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden.
b. Note :
The Indian passport secured the 76th
rank in the index.
3. Malabar
2018, the Trilateral Naval Exercise between India,
Japan and United States will be held off
the coast of Guam in Philippine Sea from 6th to 15th Jun 2018.
a. It will
be 22nd edition of the naval exercise, and will focus
on high-end war fighting skillsets, subject matter expert and professional
exchanges.
4. Indian
Health Ministry notified the Mental Healthcare Act 2017.
a. As per
this act, Attempting suicide is no more a crime in India and there
will be no more electric shocks for mentally ill children. This act
also prohibits tying mentally ill persons with chains.
b. The
2017 Act, which clearly defines mental illness, replaced the Mental Health Act
1987.
5. The Odisha government
has launched Gopabandhu Sambadika Swasthya Bima Yojana,
a new Healt Insurance scheme for Journalists.
a. This
scheme provides Rs. 2 Lakh per annum health insurance cover to all working
journalists of the state.
6. India today
successfully test-fired the indigenously developed and nuclear-capable Long
Range Ballistic Missile Agni 5.
a. This
was the sixth trial of the surface-to-surface missile, which
has a strike range of 5,000 km.
b. Note : Agni
5 is the most advanced missile with new technologies in terms of navigation and
guidance, warhead, and engine.
7. Researchers
at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have developed
an artificial intelligence (AI) tool called Norman which
they claim is the world's first 'psychopathic' AI.
8. Following
directions from Supreme Court, the Central Government has constituted the Cauvery
Water Management Authority (CMA) to address the dispute over sharing
of river water among Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry.
a. The
newly constituted Cauvery Water Management Authority (CMA) has been created as
per the Cauvery Management Scheme earlier framed by Centre and approved by
Supreme Court.
b. The
authority will comprise a chairman, a secretary and eight members.

now, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has 3 flowers named after him.
a. Yesterday,
an orchid at National Orchid Garden in Singapore was named 'Dendrobium
Narendra Modi'.
b. Last
year, a fast-growing Israeli Crysanthumun was named 'MODI'
during the PM Modi's visit to the nation.
c. An orchid grown
in Sikkim was named 'Cymbidium Namo' in 2016 by the state CM
Pawan Chamling.

The Data Security Council of India (DSCI), an arm of
the Nasscom, has signed an agreement with the Telangana
government to set up the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for
cyber security.
a. The CoE
will accelerate Telangana’s cyber security momentum and make the State a hub
for cyber security in the next five years.
11. The Cochin
Shipyard Ltd (CSL) signed agreement with Kerala
government to construct three marine ambulances for
state fisheries department.
